Ambassador Christopher Stevens, who was killed in the attacks, was respected by many in Libya, especially Benghazi, for his role in assisting the fall of the Qaddafi regime. As more evidence emerges, it seems the attack was planned well in advance, and that Libyans also died defending Stevens and the other Americans in the consulate.
Remember: no culture, anywhere on the planet, is represented by its worst extremists. There is no They.
